Our Mission
At Madhuri Devi Tribal Education and Welfare Foundation (MDTEW Foundation), our mission is to empower the children residing in the slums of Delhi through the transformative power of education. We believe every child, regardless of their background, deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a brighter future. Our goal is to break the cycle of poverty by providing not just academic support, but also holistic welfare and the tools necessary for long-term success.
Who We Are
Madhuri Devi Tribal Education and Welfare Foundation (MDTEW Foundation) is dedicated to the education and well-being of underprivileged children in the urban slums of Delhi. Established on 3rd April, 2025, we have been working tirelessly on the ground to address the significant barriers these children face in accessing quality education. Our team is a passionate group of volunteers, educators, social workers, and community members united by a common vision: a future where every slum child has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
What We Do
We take a multi-faceted approach to education and welfare, addressing immediate needs while planning for the future:
- Learning Centers: As a small NGO, we are currently running one community-based learning centers that provide supplemental education, tutoring, and homework support outside of formal school hours. This helps bridge the gap between their often under-resourced schools and their actual learning needs.
Holistic Welfare Programs: Education is difficult on an empty stomach or in poor health. Our welfare initiatives include:
- Nutritional Support: Providing healthy meals or snacks to ensure children have the energy to learn.
- Health and Hygiene: Organizing regular health check-ups, awareness sessions, and distributing hygiene kits.
- Clothing and Supplies: Supplying uniforms, books, stationery, and other essentials to ease the financial burden on families.
- Skill Development: As children grow older, we are planning to introduce vocational training and life skills workshops to prepare them for sustainable livelihoods and independent living.
- Community Engagement: We work closely with parents and community leaders to advocate for the importance of education and to create a supportive environment for our students' growth.
Our Impact
Since our inception in April, 2025, we have:
- Enrolled over 50 children in our learning programs.
- Supported 100+ children in successfully transitioning into formal schooling.
- Provided 100+ nutritious meals to our students.
- Seen the pass rates and confidence levels of our students soar.
